Receiving massage on a regular basis helps relieve any pain you may be experiencing, keeps all your joints limber, which reduces your chances of pulling a muscle. It also improves your posture and flexibility, increase range of motion, lowers blood pressure and heart rate, encourages relaxation and relieves stress.

Massage is a positive and relaxing way of easing muscular aches and pains, assisting in the prevention of soft tissue injury and aiding in the healing of the body, mind and spirit.

Remedial Massage:

derived from the word remedy.

Intended to correct or improve. It is a holistic treatment using a wide range of specialised massage techniques. Remedial massage will help restore balance to the muscular, nervous, circulatory and lymphatic systems as well as skin and connective tissue. A treatment may include trigger point therapy, deep tissue work and isometric stretching.

Relaxation Massage:

a full body treatment based on traditional Swedish techniques, this massage uses continuous contact and long flowing strokes to help the body and mind warm and relax.

Relaxation massage calms the nervous system and supports lymphatic drainage. Happy hormones such as dopamine, serotonin and endorphins are released: giving that post massage glow.

Reiki:

is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing on all levels – physical, emotional and spiritual. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen life force energy flows through us and is what causes us to be alive.

If this energy is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. A session is pleasant and relaxing and is most often utilized for one’s own personal wellness.

Postnatal Massage:

eases tight muscles and relieves the aches and pains that arise due to lack of sleep, structural changes from pregnancy and labour and the postural demands of breastfeeding.

Postnatal massage aids in childbirth recovery.

Pregnancy Massage:

is therapeutic bodywork that focuses on the special needs of the mother-to-be as her body goes through the vivid changes of pregnancy. It enhances the function of muscles and joints, improves circulation and general body tone, and relieves mental and physical fatigue.

It is a great way to relax your body while nourishing both mama and the new life that is about to be brought into this world. Pregnancy should be a time to unwind, release tension and indulge in some self-reflection.

Acupressure Massage:

is a form of pain-relieving touch therapy that is based on acupuncture & Chinese Medicine.

In acupressure, the same points on the body are used as in acupuncture but are stimulated with finger pressure instead of the insertion of needles.

Late/Missed Appointments

Please arrive for your appointment 5 minutes prior to your allocated time. This allows you time to fill out your client history form and prepare for your treatment. Time for your appointment has been carved out for you: late arrival may result in a shortened session time in order that we can accommodate appointments following you. Full payment for your session will be required.

Late or missed appointments exclude others from receiving treatment and inconvenience other waiting clients.

Late Cancellations

If a client cannot keep an appointment at Integral Health Therapies, it is essential that notice is given as soon as possible by calling the clinic and leaving a message or by SMS in response to your therapist’s reminder. Failure to give at least 6 hours notice will result in a $35 late cancellation fee, unless in extenuating circumstances.

Benefits of Massage

One of the immediate benefits of massage is a feeling of deep relaxation and calm. This occurs because massage prompts the release of endorphins – the brain chemicals that produce feelings of rest and wellbeing.

Some of the ongoing physical benefits of massage include:

// reduced muscle tension

// improved circulation

// stimulation of the lymphatic system

// reduction of stress hormones

// relaxation

// increased joint mobility and flexibility

// improved recovery of soft tissue injuries

// heightened mental alertness

// reduced anxiety and depression.
